Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has vowed to "sincerely address" the issue of revamping research, public relations and accommodation allowances provided to lawmakers, based on an accord reached between his ruling Liberal Democratic Party and opposition Nippon Ishin no Kai.
"This is an agreement struck between party leaders," Kishida, who serves concurrently as LDP president, told reporters Saturday at an airport in southern Italy. "It has been documented, so it's very important,"
Kishida was speaking after attending this year's Group of Seven summit, held for three days from Thursday, before heading to Switzerland for a Ukraine peace conference.
