The Japanese government is set to underline its determination to fully defeat deflation in its upcoming economic and fiscal management guidelines, sources said Friday.
Under the slogan of moving to a new growth-oriented economic stage, the government will aim to build a sustainable economy and society by maintaining continuous wage increases and resolving social problems the country faces, according to a draft of the guidelines to be presented to the government's Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy shortly.
The guidelines, to be released as early as this month, are expected to include measures to ensure that higher costs are reflected in product and service prices.
