The ruling Liberal Democratic Party is considering a plan to require political funds reports to record when so-called policy activity funds are used under proposed revisions to the political funds control law, multiple party sources said Saturday.

The LDP intends to keep its plan to allow purchasers of up to ¥100,000 in fundraising party tickets to remain anonymous, down from ¥200,000 under the current law. But it is preparing to add a provision calling for a review of a revised law three years after it enters into effect.

The shift from the LDP's initial proposals on political funds law revisions has met a certain level of approval from junior coalition partner Komeito. The LDP aims to get its revision bill through the Lower House with support from Komeito this month.
