Cafe de Chill Mill in Sendai’s Izumi Ward is not your typical cafe — it is staffed by family members of children requiring daily medical support, such as respiratory care.
The cafe was established by local social welfare corporation Ai no Mi to provide family members with an opportunity to work, as those taking care of children with medical needs might lack work experience, it said.
The cafe is more than just a place for coffee; it's a community hub where staffers and customers interact and those with children needing special medical care can connect with others in similar situations.
