Less than 40% of employees in Japan know about the country's whistleblower protection system, which came into effect about 18 years ago, a Consumer Affairs Agency survey has found.
The online survey, the first since 2016, was conducted in November last year, covering 10,000 workers age 15 to 79 at companies with at least three employees.
In the latest survey, 11.9% of respondents said that they knew the whistleblower protection system well, and 26.7% said they knew it to some extent.
