North Korean leader Kim Jong Un expects to visit Russia for talks with President Vladimir Putin to discuss possible arms deals, the White House said, as the war in Ukraine burns through Moscow’s weapons stocks.
White House National Security Council (NSC) spokesperson Adrienne Watson told The Japan Times on Tuesday that arms negotiations between the two countries "are actively advancing."
"We have information that Kim Jong Un expects these discussions to continue, to include leader-level diplomatic engagement in Russia," Watson said, adding that Washington would continue to urge Pyongyang to cease its arms negotiations with Moscow.
