Out of 19 municipalities in Hiroshima Prefecture that have a crematory, nine prohibit families of those who died of COVID-19 from collecting cremated remains, it has been learned.
Six of the municipalities don’t even allow the bereaved to see the face of the deceased when placed in their coffin.
Roughly two years and five months have passed since the first death of a COVID-19 patient was confirmed in the prefecture.
