The number of daily new coronavirus infections in Tokyo rose to 22 on Friday, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government said.
With Friday's figure, Tokyo has recorded 10 or more cases for four straight days after it saw eight infections Monday, when the state of emergency was lifted nationwide.
The total COVID-19 cases in the capital now stands at 5,217.
Since Monday's lifting of the state of emergency, Tokyo has relaxed stay-home and business-closure requests, allowing restaurants and bars to open for longer hours.
