The Democratic-led U.S. House Judiciary Committee said on Thursday it subpoenaed President Donald Trump's former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, for public testimony as part of an investigation of the Trump presidency.
The committee, which was considering articles of impeachment against Trump, also served a subpoena to obtain testimony from former Trump White House aide Rick Dearborn, a former deputy chief of staff, the committee said in a statement.
Both men figured prominently in former special counsel Robert Mueller's description of efforts by Trump to pressure then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions to oversee the Mueller probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election and to direct it away from his 2016 presidential campaign.
