Should a devastating earthquake hit central Tokyo tomorrow, the skyscraper office buildings of Mori Building Co. would be able to provide temporary shelter for about 10,000 people.
About 270,000 rations — enough to serve 10,000 people three meals a day for three days — and other supplies such as blankets, portable toilets and diapers are stocked at Mori building's shopping and business complexes, including the landmark Roppongi Hills and Toranomon Hills buildings, both in Minato Ward.
Mori Building is among the Japanese companies that overhauled their anti-disaster measures after the disaster of March 11, 2011.
