Solar Frontier K.K., the Development Bank of Japan and Taiyo Oil Co. plan to build a 17-megawatt solar power station in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Construction is scheduled to begin this year and operation is targeted to start next year, the three companies said in a statement Tuesday. The power plant is expected to produce enough electricity to power more than 3,800 homes annually.
Solar Frontier will supply panels and provide operation and maintenance services, according to the statement. DBJ will invest in the project and will also invite financial institutions to support raising funds. Taiyo Oil will lease its land for the project.
