A Japanese graduate student who lives in a Paris suburb that police raided in connection to last week's terrorist attacks will stay in France, even though he said he was scared he might have been caught up in the trouble.
Junichiro Yasu told The Japan Times by phone on Thursday that he was shocked to find that police raided an apartment early Wednesday in the Saint-Denis suburb where he lives.
"I never thought it could have happened so close to me, I wasn't at all prepared when suddenly it happened just like that," he said, referring to the dawn raid that resulted in the arrest of eight people and the deaths of at least two.
