Fairground-style haunted houses where actors leap out at visitors are increasingly popular in the Tokai region. Many such facilities were set up for a limited period this summer.
Around four dozen people, mostly in their 20s, were seen lining up one hot, humid day at the "Curse of the Lullaby," a haunted house in Nagoya's Wakamiya Odori Park in the city's Naka Ward.
Visitors had to wait about 40 minutes, and amid the sound of women's screams from inside some were hesitant to enter when their time came.
