South Koreans working in a North Korean industrial complex have protested Wednesday following a decision to award their North Korean colleagues a wage increase.
The Kaesong industrial zone, jointly owned by the two Koreas, is just on the North Korean side of their heavily fortified border and seen as the last remaining symbol of economic cooperation between the rival states.
North Korea shut down the complex for five months in 2013, during a period of diplomatic tension, and dialogue between the two sides on its operations has been patchy for years.
