A taxi driver was stabbed with a knife and robbed of some ¥4,000 late Thursday night in Yokohama. The suspect is still at large, NHK reported.
Shortly past 11 p.m. Thursday, a man who had taken a taxi to the Minatomirai area in Nishi Ward suddenly stabbed the 42-year-old driver as he left the taxi. The suspect also took about ¥4,000 from the driver, NHK quoted police as saying.
The knife wound on the driver is not life-threatening, NHK said. He reportedly called an ambulance by himself after being stabbed.
The suspect appeared to be in his 20s, 170 cm tall and was wearng dark clothing, NHK said, adding that the police are still searching for him.
