Major jeweler Mikimoto & Co. displayed a wedding dress Friday inlaid with 13,262 pearls.
The dress, whose retail price is ¥35 million, will be displayed at Mikimoto's outlet in Nagoya until July 27.
It was already displayed in the jeweler's Ginza outlet in Tokyo in February and earlier this month. Next month it will be showcased at the company's Osaka outlet.
Bridal fashion designer Yumi Katsura designed the dress. The pearls came from pearl oyster farms owned by Mikimoto in Mie and Nagasaki prefectures.
Katsura will arrange for the dress to be displayed in New York in October and Paris in January, then put up for sale.
