Japan, the world's biggest buyer of liquefied natural gas, and South Korea may receive at least three spot cargoes of the fuel by May 1, with a fourth one coming later that month, according to ship-tracking data.

The Seri Angkasa may reach Tokyo's Ogishima terminal on April 25 and the tanker LNG Ebisu may reach Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, on May 1, ship transmissions captured by AISLive on Bloomberg show.

Japan, which boosted spot purchases after the Fukushima No. 1 disaster gradually led to the closure of most of the nation's nuclear plants, took two cargoes from the Atlantic area last April, according to data from the Finance Ministry's website.
