The American Chamber of Commerce in Japan will hold the U.S.-Asia Business Summit in Tokyo on Thursday and Friday to discuss major trade issues and U.S. strategies toward Asia, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Senior leaders from businesses and governments from the Asia-Pacific region will be on hand for the two days of panel discussions. Participants will include Thomas R. Nides, U.S. deputy secretary of state; Wendy Cutler, assistant U.S. trade representative for Japan, Korea and APEC affairs; Monika Merz, president and CEO of Toys R Us in Japan; and Hiroshi Mikitani, chairman and CEO of Rakuten Inc.

The annual event is being held in Japan for the first time in 28 years.
