Takeda Pharmaceutical Co., Asia's biggest drugmaker, said it plans to start a global vaccine business on Jan. 1.
Takeda will pursue business opportunities, including alliances, to support the expansion of its vaccine business, the Osaka-based company said in a statement on its website Monday.
Rajeev Venkayya, a director at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will lead the new division, Takeda said.
