Japan Airlines and Qantas Airways, partners with American Airlines in the oneworld alliance, said Wednesday their services are unaffected by the U.S. carrier's bankruptcy filing.
JAL's code-share flights with AA will operate as normal, said spokesman Satoru Tanaka.
Qantas passengers booked on American Airlines-operated services with shared flight codes won't be affected, the Sydney-based company said in an emailed statement.
AMR Corp., owner of AA, the world's third-largest airline, filed for bankruptcy Tuesday after failing to secure cost-cutting labor agreements. Other members of oneworld include Cathay Pacific Airways, British Airways and Finnair.
"We will continue our business activities with American Airlines as usual," Carolyn Leung, a spokeswoman for Hong Kong-based Cathay, said in an email.
