Warner Entertainment Japan Inc. donated $1 million to the Japanese Red Cross Society on Wednesday to support reconstruction efforts in the devastated Tohoku region.
The donation is part of the proceeds from worldwide Blue-ray and DVD sales of the movie "Hereafter," according to the company.
The film was released in March and is directed by Clint Eastwood.
In July, the company sent a Japanese flag autographed by the cast of the blockbuster movie series "Harry Potter" to victims of the twin disasters in Miyagi Prefecture.
