Members of the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Tokyo said Wednesday they would like to pursue greater exchanges with Japan in an effort to let Japanese know more about the region, especially in light of recent political turmoil there.

During a courtesy visit to The Japan Times, five of the council's members — Egyptian Ambassador Walid M. Abdelnasser, Omani Ambassador Khalid Al-Muslahi, Saudi Ambassador Abdulaziz Turkistani, Iraqi Ambassador Lukman Faily and Palestinian Representative Waleed Siam — also expressed condolences to the victims of the March 11 earthquake.
