OSAKA (Kyodo) Daihatsu Motor Co. will begin marketing its new highly fuel-efficient gasoline-engine minivehicle this summer at a sticker price of ¥1 million or less, company President Koichi Ina said in a recent interview.
"Daihatsu's fortunes almost depend on (the new model)," said Ina, stressing the importance to the carmaker of the vehicle, whose fuel economy is reputed to be as good as that of hybrids.
The major minivehicle maker said earlier it would debut its new product by the end of this year.
