Less than a month since his appointment Nov. 2 as president of the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jiro Takahashi will be traveling to the United States, Mexico and the Bahamas to lead a delegation promoting the port of Nagoya.
Expectations are high for Takahashi, who specializes in ports and has worked in the past for Meiko Trans Co., the port's largest freight company, according to sources in the business community.
"For the first time, we will be focusing our attention on attracting passenger cruise ships. It may take two to three years before we can expect any results, but we must begin advance work," said President Takahashi about his 11-day business trip from Sunday to Dec. 8.
