Vote-gathering moves by industry groups are likely to draw much attention in the July House of Councilors election as it is widely said "gaining the organizational support is the key" to winning the vote.
Since the ruling Democratic Party of Japan took power last summer, there have been growing moves among industry groups in Aichi Prefecture that traditionally supported the long-ruling Liberal Democratic Party to rethink their conventional stance of supporting only the LDP.
But they also appear to be struggling to shift their support completely to the DPJ.
