A visiting senior executive from the southern Chinese city of Dongguan is urging Japanese corporations to invest more in the vibrant manufacturing hub noted for its electronics information industry.
"Since (Dongguan) has become an important manufacturing city in China and Japanese corporations are investing a lot in the city, I do hope you will have your interests in Dongguan from now on," Vice Mayor Jiang Ling told a news conference Monday in Tokyo.
Electronics manufacturers TDK, Kyocera and Pioneer are some of the Japanese companies that have opened factories in Dongguan.
The Guangdong Province city hosted a two-day investment seminar for interested firms Monday and Tuesday at a hotel in Shinjuku Ward.
