NAGOYA (Kyodo) Police found the body of a 57-year-old woman Sunday at her home in Kanie, Aichi Prefecture, after her two sons were stabbed the previous day, police said.
The police are investigating the incident as a possible murder-robbery. One of the two sons was also killed, and the surviving son said the assailant had demanded money from him, according to investigators.
Kihoko Yamada's body, bearing stab wounds, was found in a closet on the first floor of her home.
On Saturday, police officers found one of the sons, Masaki, 26, fatally stabbed when they visited the home at the request of his superior, who became worried when he did not show up for work.
The other son, Isao, 25, was found stabbed and tied up in the home, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
Isao Yamada told the police he was attacked by an unknown man at the entrance of the home when he returned at around 2 a.m. Saturday.
The three were the only people living in the home.

Kyodo NewsA 72-year-old man was arrested Sunday in Hamura, western Tokyo, on suspicion of killing his wife by striking her on the head with a hatchet.
Kiyoshi Inami was arrested after police found his wife, Keiko, 67, collapsed on the first floor of their home. She was taken to a hospital where she later died.
The police are investigating the motive for the incident.
