The United States remains an attractive place for foreign investment despite recent worries about the mortgage crisis in the economy and overly strict security checks in travel, a senior U.S. government official said Thursday in Tokyo.
Aaron Brickman, director of Invest in America, a Department of Commerce organization set up last year to promote foreign investment, noted Japan is an important foreign investor in the U.S. although he also noted recent talk about the rise of China and India as economic powers.
"It's been a great ride," he said of the success Japanese firms have had in the U.S.
