NTT Corp. has been ordered to stop advertisements for its Internet call services because they are misleading.
The ads suggest the services cost less than they actually do, the Fair Trade Commission said Tuesday.
The commission ordered NTT East Corp. and NTT West Corp., the units providing the company's services across Japan, to stop direct mailing and distributing fliers immediately.
NTT shares closed unchanged at ¥510,000 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The announcement came after the stock market closed.
