Internet Initiative Japan Inc., which provides Web and computer network services, expects subscribers to its mobile phone data service for businesses to rise to 100,000 in 2 1/2 years, President Koichi Suzuki said.
The Tokyo-based company began the high-speed service in April, using mobile phone lines leased from NTT DoCoMo Inc., Japan's largest wireless carrier. Internet Initiative is 30 percent owned by Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp. and its group units.
"The demand for the service is exceeding our expectations," Suzuki said Thursday. The company gets about 2,000 to 3,000 users per corporate client, he said.
Internet Initiative earlier this month forecast net income will gain 0.4 percent to ¥5.2 billion in the year to next March 31 as revenue climbs 18 percent to ¥78.5 billion.
