Japan and China have agreed to cooperate on clarifying the cause of the recent contamination of "gyoza" dumplings and that such incidents should not hurt Sino-Japanese relations, Finance Minister Fukushiro Nukaga said Sunday.
Nukaga met with his Chinese counterpart Xie Xuren in the morning, a day after a meeting in Tokyo of the Group of Seven finance ministers and central bank chiefs.
Their meeting was the first at the bilateral minister level since the food scare came to light in late January.
