Isuzu Motors Ltd., the nation's largest maker of light-duty trucks, plans to raise its stake in a joint venture in Indonesia as it increases overseas sales to counter declining domestic demand.
Tokyo-based Isuzu will raise its stake in PT Pantja Motor to 40 percent from 12.5 percent, the company said on its Web site, without giving a time frame.
The truck maker will buy the stakes from PT Astra International, Indonesia's biggest auto retailer, and Japanese trading firm Itochu Corp.
Isuzu gets about a quarter of its revenue from the Asia region outside Japan.
