Thirteen people infected with hepatitis C from tainted blood products who are suing the state and drugmakers rejected an Osaka High Court compromise settlement Thursday apparently because not all the affected parties would be properly compensated.

The 13 represent some 200 plaintiffs nationwide.

Presiding Judge Katsutoshi Yokota did not publicly disclose details of the offer, saying the 13 plaintiffs and the defendants, which include the government, Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corp., subsidiary Benesis Corp. and Nihon Pharmaceutical Co., must both find a way to yield.
