Softbank won 33,000 customers from rival operators in November after a rule change in 2006 allowed customers to move to another carrier without having to get new phone numbers, the Tokyo-based carrier said in a statement Friday.
KDDI Corp. gained 25,100 of its competitors' customers, while NTT DoCoMo Inc., the nation's biggest carrier, lost 58,100 to rivals, according to separate releases.
