Osaka-based House Foods will raise suggested retail prices on 112 products such as curry and stew by about 10 percent starting with Nov. 1 shipments. It will increase the suggested price of its instant noodles to ¥100 from ¥90 with Jan. 16 shipments. The company will also start reducing the net weight of some of its snack products on Dec. 3.
The government will raise the price of wheat it sells to domestic millers by 10 percent on average in October, following a previous rise in April. This has put upward price pressure on wheat products such as instant noodles.
