Kansai Electric Power Co. restarted the No. 1 Ohi nuclear reactor in Fukui Prefecture after shutting the facility because of a radiation leak.
Kepco resumed operating the 1,175-megawatt reactor Saturday, the Osaka-based company said in a statement on its Web site. The utility shut down the reactor Sept. 4 after discovering a radiation water leak. The radiation released into the air through the plant's ventilation system posed no harm to the environment, the company said.
