Nepal to get six SDF members yearly for U.N. mission
Japan hammered out plans Tuesday to send six Self-Defense Forces soldiers to Nepal each year starting in April to assist a U.N. military observer mission as part of a ceasefire accord between the Nepalese government and Maoist rebels.</PARAGRAPH>
<PARAGRAPH>Separately, five SDF liaison officials will also be dispatched to Nepal.</PARAGRAPH>
<PARAGRAPH>It will be the first overseas SDF operation guided by the newly upgraded Defense Ministry, whose mission was redefined earlier this year to make international cooperation one of its main duties.</PARAGRAPH>
