Beijing and Tokyo are arranging Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao's visit to Japan starting from April 11 to 13, including a trip to Kyoto, a senior Foreign Ministry official said Friday.

The visit to Kyoto has been requested by the Chinese prime minister, the official also said.

The two countries are now finalizing the itinerary for Wen, the first Chinese prime minister to visit Japan in seven years.

During the trip, Wen is expected to meet Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and deliver a speech at the Diet in Tokyo.

Wen will come to Japan after staying in South Korea on April 10 and 11.
