Hitachi Ltd. announced a plan Thursday designed to turn around its three core businesses -- power plants, flat-panel TVs and hard-disk drives -- by the end of March 2010.
The electronics giant hopes to make the three sectors show an operating profit by the end of fiscal 2007 with a margin of 5 percent by the end of fiscal 2009, on 10 trillion yen in sales.
Hitachi's profit margin was 2.7 percent in fiscal 2005.
