Isuzu Motor Ltd. on Monday reported record profit for the first half of fiscal 2006 mainly led by brisk sales, cost-reduction efforts and a weak yen.
The truck maker said its group operating profit during the April-September period jumped 52.2 percent to a record 57.6 billion yen, while net profit more than doubled to an all-time high of 55.4 billion yen.
Sales rose 11.9 percent to 824.7 billion yen thanks to increased truck sales in the domestic market and Asia and a rise in exports to South America and Africa.
