The government will set up a panel of experts Wednesday to share its experience hosting the World Exposition last year in Aichi Prefecture with 2010 expo host China, the trade minister said Tuesday.
Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Toshihiro Nikai said the group consisting of business leaders, scholars and artists will be headed by Shoichiro Toyoda, who served as chairman of the Japan Association for the 2005 World Exposition. Toyoda is also honorary chairman of Toyota Motor Corp.
Nikai expressed hope that Japan's industry, state-of-the-art technology and culture, including film and "manga" comics, will be shown widely at the Shanghai Expo.
