About 200 people, including former South Korean President Kim Young Sam and official representatives from 19 countries, will attend the Tuesday funeral of former Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto, Foreign Ministry officials said Friday.
As of Friday, 226 people had confirmed they would attend the funeral, which will be held at Nippon Budokan Hall in Tokyo, the officials said.
South Korea will send Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Ban Ki Moon and China will be represented by Ambassador to Japan Wang Yi. Among the 18 other countries sending representatives are the United States, Australia, France, Indonesia and Kuwait. Delegates of international organizations will also attend.
The funeral is being organized by the Cabinet and the ruling Liberal Democratic Party. Hashimoto died July 1 at age 68.
