NTT Data Corp. said Tuesday its group net profit in the first quarter of fiscal 2006 increased 86.8 percent over the previous year to 11.02 billion yen.
Sales rose 12.3 percent to 204.15 billion yen.
Pretax profit grew 81.2 percent to 16.56 billion yen, the leading system integrator said in its consolidated earnings report for the April-June period.
NTT Data attributed the strong results to an increase in sales of outsourcing services and joint-use computer systems for financial institutions.
Increased sales of systems for manufacturers and distribution companies also contributed to the favorable showing, NTT Data said.
