Jack Welch, former chairman and CEO of General Electric Co., will teach a distance-education program in partnership with Business Breakthrough Inc., a provider of business-related content via satellite television and the Internet, the firm announced Monday.
Specifically, BBT, whose president and CEO is business strategist Kenichi Ohmae, will establish the Jack Welch Institute under the auspices of the Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School of Business in April.
Global executive education provider HSM Americas Inc. is also a partner in the project.
The six-month, $5,000 course will be conducted in English and will feature lectures by Welch on business and career management topics beginning April 14. The course is open to anyone, anywhere in the world, with a broadband Internet connection.
According to BBT, which is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange's Mothers market, the course is expected to generate sales of 100 million yen for the business year to March 2007.
