Isuzu Motors Ltd. told the transport ministry Thursday it will recall a total of 2,716 trucks it had manufactured under three models due to possibly defective exhaust pipes.
The vehicles were made between June 2002 and October 2004, and were sold under three model names -- Isuzu's Elf, Nissan Motor Co.'s Atlas and Nissan Diesel Motor Co.'s Condor.
Isuzu said in its report submitted to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport that it has found the welding on these vehicles' exhaust pipes are not strong enough and the pipes may crack, causing exhaust leaks.
