Lenovo Japan Ltd., the local unit of China's biggest computer maker, Lenovo Group Ltd., launched on Monday its latest lines of personal computers for the Japanese market in a move to tap into the market for small companies.
The arrival here of the Lenovo 3000 series follows its entry into such markets as Britain, the United States and India. The Lenovo 3000 is the first global brand by Lenovo Group, which bought the PC business of IBM Corp. of the U.S. last May.
Lenovo Japan aims to serve companies with a relatively small number of employees.
"The domestic market of products for large companies has been shrinking," said Lenovo Japan President Hiroyuki Mukai, who expressed intention to focus mainly on products for small offices, a sector he said could grow in the future.
