Tokyo police arrested a Mizuho Bank official Wednesday on suspicion of embezzlement for allegedly leaking customer information to a company linked to the mob.
The Metropolitan Police Department said Yoshiichi Takahashi, 51, a senior official in Mizuho Bank's business inspection department and a resident of Midori Ward, Saitama, has confessed.
Takahashi embezzled information on 628 individual customers and 623 corporate clients, including their names, addresses and bank account numbers, police alleged.
