Faked earthquake-resistance data were used to construct at least three condominium complexes in Fukuoka Prefecture built by Kimura Construction Co. but not designed by disgraced architect Hidetsugu Aneha, the land ministry and the Fukuoka Municipal Government said Wednesday.
The three buildings, all located in the city of Fukuoka, were designed with falsified quake-resistance data provided by the now defunct architectural design firm Something.
"It is regrettable because this is the first case in which quake-proofing data (provided by other architects) were falsified," Shigetaro Yamamoto, head of the land ministry's Housing Bureau, said at a news conference in Tokyo.
