The state will end its special inspection of Japan Airlines Corp. but continue to closely monitor the mishap-prone carrier since it is still having safety problems, the transport ministry said Thursday.
The nation's largest carrier has been under a special government safety inspection since last April designed to ensure it complies with an improvement plan it submitted in the wake of a series of accidents and safety violations.
JAL is apparently complying, the ministry said.
