Japan will study the feasibility of concluding a pact with the United States to prevent defense information from leaking, government sources said Saturday.
Under such a pact, called a general security of military information agreement, a country that receives information must take protective measures as extensive as in the country that provides the information, they said.
The agreement would enable the two countries to exchange more highly sensitive information and promote the unity of their defense setups.
